Chuck E Cheese Hell

I just had to lable the post this because my sister, Cassie, used to work there and it was how she would refer to it after a day of being in the mouse costume and being beat up by little kids. Arden really had a fun time last night. I mainly just sat at the table and talked to Lori and watched the purses. There were alot of people there-especially for a week night. Matt came so he took Arden to play all of her games. Finally we were ready to go but Arden wanted something out of the ice cream machine so bad. I tried to convince her that a sherbert pop would be best but she wanted the monstorous all-star pop. OF course! So she got one and no one could believe I would let my child have that so close to bed. It really does not phase her. She went to bed once we got home. FYI in this picture she had already eaten the red portion of the popsicle. It was huge.

Krispy Kreme Princess

Our girl is feeling better. They ended up diagnosing with para-influenza (sp?). She is non-contagious now and still coughing. The steriod really helped with her strider cough and wheezing. I am happy to be back at work and I think she is too.

She has been saying crazy things lately. Yesterday, she was arguing with me (imagine that) and I told her to stop playing with papers on my desk. She tried to hit me and I told her if she did that again she was getting a spanking. Well, she whacked herself on the head 3 times and said--I spank myself. Then she said "ouch" that hurt. I said "why did you do that?" She said " I was just so angry".

She also told me on the way home last night that she wanted her purse. I had asked if she wanted it before we left the shop. She said in a really rude voice "no I don't want it!" So on the way home she is crying for it. I told her that was tough and I was not turning around. To that she said "yes you are" or " I am not your friend anymore" . I told her "yes, she was my friend" and I started laughing. That made her so mad she said she was going to spank me. I told her that girls don't spank their moms----Mommas are the ones who spank girls who act ugly. I then said "i'm the boss of you" ---because I know that makes her so mad. She turned around and said" no I am the boss of you". I just laughed and she was even more mad. She is getting such a temper lately. It is crazy.

Her daddy has always wanted to have KRISPY KREME NIGHT ever since we have been married. I always told him that in a year imagine what a Krispy Kreme a week would do to my waist that is already bigger than i would like. He has begged and pleaded but I say no. Well, after work last night she came home and said "Can we go to Donuts PLEASE" I think Matt was more than happy to take her to the only Krispy Kreme in Chattanooga on Brainerd Road. The pictures were just priceless and she wore her crown for me when I got home last night.

chick-fil-a hits the spot!!

I was going to be good and eat a sandwich but mom offered to pick up chickfila for me and Arden at work today. My child has went a whole week without fries so I thought that was a wonderful idea. I ordered 2 kids meals. Arden did a cheer when she saw Grammy come in with the kids meals. I almost did too. It was so good. Good ol' fast food when you have been eating a turkey sandwich or fat free hot dogs all the time is such a welcome thing. I was so glad to have it. Arden too. She even ate all her nuggets and 2 of moms.

We are headed back to the doc about 2pm to see how she has changed. I am praying there aren't 10 kids in there hacking and with pneumonia like last time. I despise the sick waiting room. I make Arden sit in my lap and take my own books but it still makes me paranoid as anything.

respect for the stay at home moms

So I have been home every day since Monday except for half a day today. I went in just to make sure my desk wasn't too loaded down and I wasn't getting too far behind. Arden ran a fever on Monday of about 102-103. Matt had said she sounded croupy in the morning but just a little coughing and runny nose. On Tues afternoon when she still had the fever I took her to the doc. She has been very good but just extra clingy. Taking naps on me and wanting me to sleep with her etc. He (doc) couldn't find any thing wrong and just said that the only way to explain the temp was a virus and he said it was probably rotavirus. i didn't agree because she had no symptoms. No poops or throw up. So, he said give it 24 hours and it would probably be gone. Well, Tues night she had a croup attack. She woke up barking cough and wheezing to breath. I remembered what Abby M. had said about this happening to her daughter just a few days ago and they said to take her out into the cold air. I did that while Matt steamed the bathroom. Arden was panicing a little because she didn't know what was going on. I took her into the bathroom and she managed to get over it but I slept in her room that night with the vaporizer because I was scared for her. So, she woke up the next morning coughing more and I called the doc back to say it was croup after all. He still would not admit it and said it was just probably an respiratory attack. I told him she had croup before and it was exactly the same sounds. He called her in an oral steriod and we are supposed to head back tomorrow. I feel much better today but as of last night I thought I would go crazy if I didn't get out of the house. Matt came back from out of town and went strait to church so he was not home till 8 or so. I was so thankful when Shelly came over to walk last night. Just to get out of the house. Arden has been so sweet but she is all over me all the time. I take it for granted that when we go to work other people play with her and I at least get to get out of this house. I love my house but after a couple days I was feeling couped up. I was thinking "how do moms keep their house clean when they are there all day" and "don't they get sick and tired of thinking about what they are cooking for dinner". I think I would resent dinner. Just because I put in a half day at work today I decided to pick up lunch on the way home. It was wonderful!! I am so sick of cereal and fat free hotdogs and anything else that we have here at home. Oh, Mac and Cheese. I resent it too!!! hehe! So, while Monday I was more than happy to stay home and thought how wonderful it is. .....by Wednesday I was wanting to go to work. So was Arden. She asked me on Wed. if we could go to the shop. HA. I thought the day would never come but it came after only 3 days. I think it would have been better if we could get out of the house to go to park and even target but with her sick it wasn't good idea. I just thought if I have to watch one more episode of "dora" or if she coughs in my face one more time I am going to be sick. So, to all you stay at home moms who have to stay home alot. You are awesome!!

can you believe?

Arden has a broken collarbone. I don't know who all I told that she fell off the bed about a week and a half ago. Well, she hasn't complained at all but yesterday she flinched when i picked her up and I thought "what in the world---that should not be sore at this pt."
Took her in and Allen and I were laughing about it was probably nothing because she was telling him "it doesn't hurt". Well, then he felt something---don't know how because I had checked 1000times. He gave her and xray and sure enough. She will be in a figure 8 harness for a month--has to sleep in it and everything. so uncomfy. When he came in with the xrays I started laughing --he was too---and said "I am the worst mom." He said it had already begun to heal but she would need to make sure not to re-injure or we would be talking surgery. Can you believe it? She is happy as a lark because to her "it didn't hurt anyway" and she got a new tea party from target.
I will have to take a picture to post of her in her figure 8 harness.

But in the meantime--Jerry asked Arden what she wanted to be when she grows up? Without hesitation she said "a Butterfly". I just love kids.

TMI

So let me just say I am so bloated. I know everyone wanted to know that but I feel like a balloon. Supposed to start next week and I know that's why. Even wearing a jogging suit to work and no makeup but mascara. You don't want to see me. Matt took the wii fit out of town too. WAH :( I love that thing and have been using it to do push-ups and other such exercises that I hate to do. I do lunges and yoga too. It is really fun. It is a good alternative to watching tv on the couch at night--even though that is kinda fun too. Going to spin class tonight and might see how Arden does in childcare at Studio 360. It is so nice and i still can't decide if i want to switch from Rush. Child care is much better and that is a concern of mine. I know some of you may have seen me on the silly commercial for Studio 360 but I was just visiting that day and had the luck of taking the last bike in the front row. I swear I had not even looked in mirror all day. Then they show up with the cameras to shoot the commercial. I figured I would look too vain if I got up and walked out because I didn't want to be on tv. Besides someone would have come in and taken my bike because class is always full. So instead I am just a Hixson celebrity. What can I say? HA!!!!
Mom and Dad kept Arden last night after bellydancing and I got to sew some. It was nice to have the quiet house to myself--and the bed. Did I mention that I can get ready in no time when i don't have a child at home. it is amazing. But now I am at work and she isn't here yet and I am missing her. Keep looking at the door. We are going the doc today to have her arm checked out. I know I am prob the mom who lets my kid go around with dislocated shoulder and tells her to stop whining. Really i thought after a few days (this happened weekend before last) she would get over the soreness. But she is still playing to one side when you pick her up. Sometimes she will yell and other times she will lean on the left arm to keep you from putting pressure on the right one. Not good! So I figured she should be over that by now and I am going to get it checked to be on the safe side.

she just made it and she went to potty and got sucker. She is doing so good.

sad news

Two people that I love lost babies this week. It is just sad. Who knows why things like that happen? Just pray for Lori and Anna. It seems like I keep getting bad news from my pregnant or trying to concieve friends and it is just something so close to a woman's heart. :(

"you the best friend"

This is a phrase that my child uses frequently to manipulate me. I know that when she is 16 I will be begging and pleading to hear her say these words. However, she does say it alot to soften me up now. She will also say the dreaded "I'm not your friend anymore" to me if for some reason she is mad--like I won't let her have another iced cookie before lunch.
Tonight I let her go to eat with Grammy and Danny while I went to the gym--this is a great plan btw. So, i walked into O'Charley's just in time for her to walk out of the bathroom and yell "MOM, I DID GREEN". I don't know why she says that pee is green but no matter how many times i say pee is yellow she still says green.
When we got in the car and were headed home she said, " Mom, can you give me a kiss?" so sweet!!! I said "sure as soon as we get home." So, she proceeds with "how about a pat, Momma?" So I reach back and pat her leg. That seems to make her very happy and that just amazes me. So crazy how sometimes she can be the most loving child. I know that is why Jesus told us to be like little children. They can be so contented sometimes. Now when they are brats-I am sure Jesus wasn't thinking about that. But in moments where they are happy as can be if you are the "best friend" it is awesome.

accident prone

So I might be taking Arden to the doc later today. We will just see. I am going to tell this even though it makes me sound like a bad momma. Saturday we were playing on my bed (which is pretty tall) and I was watching the Scorpion King. She was watching too but sliding on my legs. I told her 3-4 times to be careful that she did not get to close to the edge. Well, it was just too tempting and she slid off the end of my legs and fast first into the hardwood floor. I jerked her up in about .5seconds and hugged and kissed. She didn't cry long. She seemed fine and reassured me that she was okay. Well, then last night she was sleeping on the couch. Yes, we let our child sleep on the couch. It is closer than going up the stairs to her room when she wakes up and I am happy to have her closer. If she falls asleep there then she can stay there. Same rule applies for me and Matt and no one seems to have a problem with that. We all like to sleep on the couch occasionally. We don't take it as a punishment. So she was sleeping on couch and about 2am I hear her fall. I swear Matt never rolled over even though I jumped out of bed like someone shot me and ran to the living room. She was crying and I felt so bad that I brought her to our bed. She didn't fall far so i wasn't worried. Well this morning she is crying alot and saying different things hurt. mainly she says that her neck hurts--by her colarbone. I have looked down her throat with flashlight to make sure she wasn't confused about it being a sore throat. She has been over all cry baby but no fever. Well, now I have noticed the pattern. She cries when I pick her up--under the arms. But then when I ask where it hurts she points to her neck/colarbone. I wonder if it's bruised or if she is sore under the arms from me jerking her up so quick. i probably gave the poor kid whiplash. I am going to wait about half day and if she is still complaining I will take her in for xray just to make sure. She has cried about 7 times this morning. 6 times when diff. people picked her up --to put her on couch, in car seat, etc. The only other time was when she had to lift her arms and i pulled her shirt off from last night. She cried bad about that. So, I guess I will just wait. Poor baby! Her momma has let her get all banged up.
