catch up post

So- we have been on vacation and Arden turned 3 since I last posted. The party was great thanks to Matt and Chelsea. I am so glad that they were in control of it and it was so cute. Everyone keeps saying how are we going to top it next year and I say "we aren't". I voted for cake at home this year and that is what she might get next year. ha. She did have a sinus infection and had a fever the 2 nights leading up to her party. I was exhausted from her sleeping on top of me -not very well at that. That is another reason why i was so thankful for my husband and sister. I would not have made it through the day. Might have even had to cancel. She didn't feel great on her party day but we are lucky that we have a kid who can act not sick even when she feels bad. Who wouldn't act happy with that much candy. ha.


We went to Destin for a week. It was really fun. I just lounged in the pool the whole week chatting it up with family. Arden loves the pool so she was fine to stay in there 8 hours a day. I wore 50spf and a hat but still got the spotty face. Mom has given me some face stuff since then (she has spots too) and it was really helped to lightent them. don't moms always know best? We really enjoyed ourselves but I was glad to get home and back to routine. I am such the creature of habit.




Now I am in frantic nesting mode and trying to keep the anxiety down. I don't have the crib assembled or anything and I am within 2 months of my due date. Arden came 2 weeks from now and while I don't expect him and pray he will stay in--I am trying to get ready. I just got his room painted this weekend and am still working on our playroom remodel. It is hectic. I have my shower this weekend so i am hoping to get it done before then since it is at my house. I figure people would like to see a crib at least set up. Yesterday I had contraction episode. 11 braxton hicks in under an hour. It was enough to scare all of us. I keep journals with both pregnancies and I did the same thing with Arden on the same day. But with her I had 7 BH in an hour and the doc said if I had more than 10 I needed to head to Erlanger downtown for him to check me. I did not want to do that yesterday so I just waited and tried to rest so they would stop. They did and I didn't have any more for the rest of the night. I have a doc's appt next Monday so in the meantime I will just take it easy and try to relax. It is just too early for all this mess. I have been taking it so much easier this time. I rest when I feel tired and don't try to push as hard. Please pray for me though. I want this boy to go closer to due date...it will be better for him...and much easier on me since i know how scary it is with a premie. I am going to lay on couch with my legs crossed if I have to. Also pray that everything goes well for me have a reg. delivery this time. It is something that I really want to experience in my life and Doc says as long as baby is head down we should have no repeat C section this time. The only road block is that if I had him on a weekend--one of the doc's in his practice refuses to deliver a prior c section patient. So even if I was 10cm dialated he would put me in surgery. I am not happy with that at all. I am really hoping that I don't have to have one. It will be better for me in the long run if we ever have another baby. So just pray that I go close-within 3 weeks of term and that I can have a reg. birth. I am praying about it much more as we get closer. I also pray that he will be easier to breast feed than Arden. She was so stubborn but i was more stubborn. I know I will tough it out but wouldn't it be wonderful if it was easy. just wishful thinking. Anyway. I will try to post more. My bellybutton is getting close to becoming flat so that it funny. Meatball is getting big.

We are out on the new porch eating cereal and using the lap top and making a list of party suplies. It is insane how much i love the screen porch. I can forget about my living room. I am so happy that we get wireless out here. I want to live out here as long as it is early morning or evening when there is a breeze. So Matt and Chelsea are busy making lists about what kind of candies we need and all that. It is funny. They are so planned. This is going to be the craziest party for a 3 year old. I was happy to have just cake at the house but Matt has been pumping in her brain for the last 3 months that she is having a willy wonka party. So there will be pictures to come I am sure of it. especially of Matt dressed up as Willy Wonka.

I could get used to this...

It is only my second week day of vacation but I am loving it. Thought I would be nesting and cleaning but that would be a waste of time right? everything looks pretty good from minimum effort when Matt is out of town and it is just me and Arden at home at night. I have time to do a load of laundry or get dishes out of the sink. You don't realize how nice that is unless you get home everynight at 9pm with your kid about to pass out and try to get the laundry done etc. Friday night Me,Arden, and Grammy went to see Ice Age 3. It was so cute!!! It is Arden's favoirte movie to watch at Grammy's house. Dad said he is just happy that a new one is out so they can get a break from the ones that they have. On Saturday we celebrated the 4th at my SIL Kristy's house. It was awesome. She has the most incredible home and pool and everything you can imagine. We stayed all day and watched fireworkks at night. She had bbq catered and there were about a million desserts. Arden swam litterally all day. I can't believe that she can just stay in the pool for 5-6 hours in her little float. On Sunday we went to church and then to Lupis for pizza. It is one of my new favorites lately. Arden likes it too and you can get a million veggies on your pizza. I shouldn't tell my secret but no on is there after church on Sunday so that is the time to go. Yesterday we went to hamilton place,lowes,pier one, and pf changs. We were exhausted after being out all day and had to get sonic slushies and head home to watch some dora and have some spaghetti pie I had made. Then today Arden had school so we were up and rolling and I went to the shop for a while to get this laptop and do some busy work. It was so quiet and nice to be there with no one there. Then I did my bargain hunting at Lowes, Target, and home depot. Here is what I got. Tsble was $45 dollars from Target. You can even change our the tiles on the top. Set of 6 chairs were $180 at lowes. They both were marked 50% off and then you got 75% off that . hehe! so proud of my mix and match find. I like it too. Can't wait for paint guys to come tomorrow and get to staining my porch. I am hoping it will be done before the beach but don't get me started on how many sample gallons of stian I have had to buy now. just out of control. I am going back to get 2 more as soon as I wake Arden up from her nap. BTW she got time out again at school today. Her teacher said she doesn't know what to say---Arden is like their easiest student. They said once they ask her she says she is sorry but acts like she doesn't really "get" why she is going to time out. I spanked her as promised when we got home. She showed me the pitiful lip and cried saying she was sorry and "are you mad at me mommy?" argh. what am I going to do? They say she is completely sweet. They even said they tried to give her an example by taking a toy from one of the kids and asking her if it was nice. She looked at them with all seriousness and said "I don't know the answer" She has a mental block or something. Anyway, maybe we will get it soon.
